About the PTB TWG-ICS

Every Preemie—SCALE convenes a PTB/LBW Global Technical Working Group on Implementation Challenges and Solutions (PTB TWG-ICS) that meets at least once each year. The PTB TWG-ICS provides a broad multi-disciplinary forum for emerging evidence, relevant research and learning across the range of PTB and LBW interventions and implementation in low-income countries (LICs). In order to increase newborn survival and favorably impact other related reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health outcomes, the group will explore potential opportunities to address gaps in critical knowledge that will help to overcome bottlenecks to implementation, and significantly increase coverage and quality of PTB and LBW evidence-based interventions. Representation includes a wide range of clinical and public health disciplines. Please see the Terms of Reference for more information. Materials and presentations from each meeting are posted on the corresponding pages below.

May 1, 2015 – Gestational age estimation in LICs

May 16, 2016 – LINC factors plus maternal complications, co-hosted with Ending Eclampsia

November 16, 2016 – Safe and effective use of PTB interventions

September 26, 2017 – Respectful newborn care
